CPS Energy customers can take advantage of a Black Friday offer when they purchase a qualified thermostat. Beginning November 27 through January 31, 2016 customers who purchase a Wi-Fi thermostat, install it and enroll in CPS Energy’s My Thermostat Rewards will collect a $150 bill credit.
Justin Chamberlain, program manager for Products and Services at CPS Energy, says this is a first time offer for customers.
“We’re excited to be a part of the Black Friday experience and to offer our customers more savings. This is the one time of the year where customers are looking for the best deals and we think ours is a pretty good one. We’ll be increasing our rebate from $85 to $150 for a limited time.”
Black Friday specials paired with the $150 bill credit offer big savings for customers.
“The third generation Nest Learning Thermostat will be less than $100 after the bill credit during this promotion. And, it’s just one of many options that can help customers manage energy and save money year round,” says Chamberlain.
The Honeywell VisionPro 8000 cost $149 and with the holiday savings plus the annual bill credit for participating in My Thermostat Rewards, the customer will actually get bill credits that would make the thermostat free and net $30.
To enroll in CPS Energy’s My Thermostat Rewards, customers should visit cpsenergy.com/mythermostatrewards. Nest customers are automatically prompted to enroll in My Thermostat Rewards during thermostat setup. Customers who enroll, get the $30 bill credit, save energy which lowers their bill, and help conserve electricity for our entire community and state during periods of high energy demand through the Demand Response program.
Demand Response is part of CPS Energy’s larger strategy for reducing demand by 771 MW to avoid building another power plant. It also contributes to stabilizing the state grid during any power emergency that may be called by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas or ERCOT, which manages the state’s electrical grid.
With more than 90,000 customers enrolled in Demand Response through free Smart Thermostats, and 21,000 enrolled in Home Manager, residents in Greater San Antonio help reduce energy use when it’s needed most.
“We have offered rebates for the Nest Thermostat from more than a year, and we are happy to add Honeywell, Ecobee and others to our list of qualified thermostats. We’re proud of this growing program and we hope to add 1,000 more customers during our holiday offer,” says Chamberlain.
The holiday special is also good for customers who already purchased a qualifying thermostat. They can get the $150 bill credit by enrolling in the My Thermostat Rewards program.
